Members' Car Draw


The Credit Union holds a bi-monthly car draw. The cost of entering the draw is only €5.50 every two months.To enter, the applicant must be a member of the Credit Union and must be eighteen years or older and must have at least €10 in their savings accounts with the Credit Union at any given time.

Rules Of The Car Draw

  • you must be a member of Balbriggan Credit Union
  • you must over 18 years of age
  • you must have sufficient savings in your account (63 cent p.w.)

The following are the Rules & Regulations for Balbriggan Car Draw:

  1. The Draw will commence in October 2000, subject to achieving a sufficient number of entrants as determined by the Board of Directors of Balbriggan Credit Union, and will continue every quarter until the Board deem otherwise. Or alternatively changed at AGM.

  2. In the event of insufficient numbers, the draw may be suspended, or discontinues, or alternative prizes may be given, at the direction of the Board of Directors.
  3. The draw is open to Balbriggan Credit Union Members only.
  4. The make and type of car and other prizes will be at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors.
  5. The Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers of Balbriggan Credit Union will not be liable for any defects, mechanical or otherwise, found in any vehicle supplied or subsequently arisong, or for any consequence thereof, howeer arising.
  6. Rule 5 will also apply to any other prizes that may be added to the draw in time.
  7. All draws will be held publicly, under the supervision of at least one (1) member od the Supervisory Committee and one (1) member of the Board of Directors.
  8. Winning members will be notified by post and a list of all winners will be posted on notice boards.
  9. The draw will be non-profit making and surplus funds will be disposed of by way of additional prizes. The amount of any prizes will be at the direction of the Board of Directors.
  10. The subscription to draw will be €5.50 per ticket, deducted from the members savings account one week prior to the Car Draw. Any increase to cost of the draw will be approved at AGM by members.
  11. All legitimate expenses and overheads in relation to the set up and operation of the draw will beborne out of draw funds.
  12. In the event that a winning member is a person who is in arrears or default in carrying out any financial commitment obligation to the Credit Union, the Board of Directors may make a decision to with hold delivery of the car or any other prize won by the member until the arrears have been paid or the default has been rectified. Such decision of the Board of Directors will be notified in writing or in person to the member and if within seven days of the member being notified, they have failed to comply with the requirements of the Board of Directors in relation to such arrears or default, they shall be entitled to sell or otherwise dispose of the car or prizes at the best available price, (which will not necessarily comprise the list or garage price of car or prize.) and pay oer to the winning member the net proceeds after deducting any such arrears or paying any monies required to remedt such default. Notice of such decision can be made by delivering same to member personally or by posting same to them by registered post in which case the dat eof receipt will be deemed to be two working days after post.
  13. The decision of the Board of Directors of Balbriggan Credit Union Ltd. concerning the foregoing rules or any matter arising from the draw will be final and not subject to appeal.
